Biografía
Originally from Ethiopia, Worku was inspired to pursue medicine as a career after witnessing healthcare shortages in underserved areas. As a resident of California for nearly a decade, he has pursued additional education and earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. He also has completed emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgical residencies and is fluent in English, Oromifa and Amharic.
“It is rewarding to know I make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of my patients,” he said.
When not caring for patients, Worku enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. He also loves to play soccer and is a self-declared “huge fan” of international soccer star Lionel Messi.
