Biografía
Dr. McDonald is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. He has been providing patient care in Sonora since 2011. He also has experience from two Sacramento trauma centers. He completed a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center, a level I trauma center. Following his residency, he joined the Department of Orthopedics at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento, a level II trauma center.
Dr. McDonald also has unique training from his fellowship with The Indiana Hand Center in Indianapolis, where his training included diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and disorders of the entire upper extremity.
Dr. McDonald’s interest in orthopedics started while he was growing up in Pleasanton. As an athlete competing in wrestling and tennis and later as a member of the UC Davis ski team, Dr. McDonald suffered a few injuries including broken bones and torn cartilage. He also worked for an orthopedist in Pleasanton helping with back office and medical assistant tasks. Prior to pursuing his career in medicine, Dr. McDonald had experience as a whitewater rafting guide and as a professional ski patroller.

I don't feel Dr McDonald spends much time with his patients. Doesn't ask many questions, and doesn't offer things like, what to expect after surgery, how long recovery is, etc
