Biografía
Dr. Shuowen Chen is a board-certified family medicine physician. He enjoys working in family medicine because he gets to build relationships and provide ongoing care. He likes caring for patients of all ages, helping them make the best decisions for their health.
Dr. Chen earned his medical degree at St. George’s University in True Blue, Grenada. He performed his residency in Family Medicine at the Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Chen did additional training in Integrative Medicine at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Chen got a bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan and remains a huge fan of the Wolverines.
In his free time, Dr. Chen enjoys hiking, baking, traveling and playing squash.

Excellent medical skills

He told me to just stop stratching my severe plaque psoriasis, until I asked for a dermatologist referral. He told me he can't refill my prescription with passing a ua, after already refilling once. I can't get him to answer me about the rest of my perscription that I was forced to forfeit. He wouldn't tell me how to change providers, or how to get perscribed the medication that my ua has to be free of.

Dr. Chen has been attentive, respectful, and supportive regarding my emotions during stressful medical episodes. When one test is normal, but I'm still having symptoms, he rules out as many possibilities as he can within a short timeframe without causing injury by referring me to specialists, running more tests, and gathering more info and understanding from me regarding my health. He is a fantastic provider and so is that nurse who draws blood! She's always so quick and her draws never hurt; that's always a plus.

Doctor Chen is great. Goes over everything and so easy to talk to about your health. He makes sure you understand options and what he thinks if best for you at that time. He always makes you feel that if you need more help he is there for you to return to and work on getting you better. Thank you Dr. Chen !

Dr. Chen listens to my concerns and gives me options for possible alternatives I may try if I'm not comfortable with something. (Like, a supplement or lifestyle approach to try as opposed to a medication--IF I have misgivings...)
