Biografía
A proud Army veteran and longtime leader in cardiovascular care in Kern County, Michael Pelzer is a family nurse practitioner passionate about helping patients find and maintain their best health.
Michael began his healthcare career while serving in the U.S. Army. Since then, he has worked extensively in cardiovascular care in Kern County, including as director of Adventist Health Bakersfield’s cardiac catheterization lab.
As an FNP, Michael cares for patients of all ages, including children and older adults. He treats a variety of conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
He approaches healthcare holistically, empowering his patients to optimize self-care to lead their best lives.
When not caring for patients, Michael enjoys computer building and programming, and spending time with his wife, eight children, two grandchildren, five dogs and cat.

Michael always provides excellent care, and was able to fit me into his tight schedule. He diagnosed conjunctivitis, for which he prescribed medicated eye drops. I visited my pharmacy the next day, only to discover the prescription hadn't been sent to them, and they didn't have it in stock. I called the clinic to ask for a replacement, or send it to another pharmacy. Nobody was available, I left a message, received no return call. It has been four days without medication, and I leave on vacation in two days. Guess I'll start taking my meds when I return, in a week
