Katharine Marie Mason-Ellis, PA-C

Katie Mason-Ellis, PA-C, is a certified physician associate specializing in cardiology. With experience in both primary care and cardiology, she brings a well-rounded approach to helping patients improve their overall heart health and wellness. Katie works closely with patients managing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, while also emphasizing prevention, education, and long-term healthy lifestyle habits. “Building relationships with patients and helping them understand their health conditions is incredibly rewarding,” she says. “Adventist Health is a culture that truly cares.”

Before transitioning into cardiology, Katie cared for patients in a primary care setting, where she provided wellness visits, preventive care, and treatment for a variety of chronic and acute conditions across all ages. That experience strengthened her passion for continuity of care and gave her a deep understanding of how overall health impacts heart health.

Katie also brings a unique clinical background to her work. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a physical therapy associate, developing a strong foundation in rehabilitation and patient-centered care. She later returned to school to expand her expertise, earning her physician assistant degree from Heritage University. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and has received extensive training and experience caring specifically for cardiology patients over the years.

Known for her compassionate and approachable style, Katie takes time to listen carefully to patients’ concerns and explain complex health information in practical, easy-to-understand ways. She values building long-term relationships with patients and helping them feel empowered in their care journey.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She loves being outdoors, traveling, gardening, and taking on home remodeling projects. A proud alum of the University of Oregon, she’s also an enthusiastic Oregon Ducks football fan.
