Compassionate

I went in for my feet which I hurt moving heavy boxes. He treated it as a non issue and gave me no instructions for them. Exercise ? Rest ? Wrap? No advice at all. That's the only reason I came in. Then he prescribed duiretic pills. I said that won't help me feet. He said it might help my blood pressure. Then he said my feet might hurt because of vitamin deficiency. Sudden onset after moving heavy boxes. Yeah. Right.

The results confirmed the diagnosis and the probable course of the illness. It is reassuring having the entire appointment plan born out by the actual progression of my illlness

Joe Martin, PA did an excellent job of looking over my chart before we met, listening to my description of what was going on, gentile and thorough with the exam, recommendations of what to do, and followthrough with prescription and referrals to x-ray and further exam by another practitioner.

Joe told me what his first thought was (take antibiotics but not open up the infection) then listened to my complaints about throbbing, pain and living too far away to come back in if it really needed to be opened up. He told me about the pros and cons and we agreed together to have him lance it. He also listened to my suspicions about MRSA, explained it to me and took a culture. He then called twice in the next few days to see how I was doing and to give me the results of the culture. I couldn't ask for a more attentive PA!

I don't think the provider heard my problems causing me to now have two bills because I've since had to go to the ER for the exact same concerns and not feeling better but worse. I feel like my concerns weren't taken seriously and that all I was there for was to get out of work which is the opposite of why I was there. I'm not missing more work because I didn't get the correct treatment in the first place.

I had met J. Martin years ago, and remember that his caring way has not changed one bitHe I an asset to the team
