Jill Weaver Welshans, NP

Jill Welshans, ACNP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in bariatric surgery. Dedicated to providing expert care from the beginning of the surgery process to recovery and beyond, she prizes her role in helping patients achieve their health goals. “Seeing outcomes and the way this changes the lives of patients is truly a gift to me as a provider,” she shares.

Driven by a lifelong desire to help others, Jill pursued a career in medicine after a family member faced a pivotal experience in the hospital. Initially she attained two degrees in nursing and worked for eight years in a liver transplant/surgical intensive care unit. Then she earned her nurse practitioner degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she discovered a passion for her current practice.

“I found bariatric surgery to be a refreshing change filled with hope,” Jill says. “I’ve seen firsthand how impactful and transformative this experience can be for people.” Jill’s practice includes clinical care before and after surgery, medication management, educating patients and leading support groups.

When not at work, Jill relishes home time with her husband, Jake, and their two young boys, Tyson and Wyatt. She also loves life outdoors, hiking and growing new plants in her garden.
