James Warren Boozer, MD

James Boozer, MD, is an internal medicine physician with decades of experience caring for adolescents and adults ages 16 and older. Dr. Boozer enjoys getting to know each patient and has a wealth of knowledge about managing conditions that commonly affect us as we age. His experience includes treating patients with acute illnesses and injuries and managing chronic conditions like diabetes, thyroid issues, rheumatological conditions, dementia, and a range of mental health challenges.

A lifelong Californian, Dr. Boozer has dedicated his career to serving others. Before earning his medical degree, Dr. Boozer cared for patients as a registered nurse for several years. He spent his first two years as a physician caring for farm workers in the underserved area of Planada, California. He then served the Modesto community for several decades before relocating to Groveland with his wife and daughter.

A devoted Christian, Dr. Boozer served on the board of the Modesto Gospel Mission and helped start their medical clinic, offering care for the area’s unhoused and low-income population. His faith guides him each day as he helps his patients and community.

Dr. Boozer and his wife have raised five children and one grandchild. Away from work he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, and writing.
