Biografía
Jack C. Hou, MD, is a board-certified urologist specializing in comprehensive urological care for both men and women. He treats urinary incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infection, kidney stones, hematuria, and other urinary diseases. Dr. Hou earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his urology medicine residency at State University of New York in Syracuse, New York and his neurourology/female urology fellowship was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Through the Adventist Health and Kern Medical partnership, Dr. Hou is committed to providing specialty care to patients at both healthcare systems in Kern County, expanding access to top-level care in our community.
Dr. Hou’s interests include traveling, cooking and family activities. He was born in Taiwan, raised in New York and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Dr Hou is somewhat unique to my doctors. When he comes into the exam room, he has already reviewed my medical history, his notes from past visits, test results and all other medical information about me. So when he comes in the room, he is well informed about everything and can get started on things right out of the gate. Some of my other doctors seem like they're looking at the computer screen as they are talking to me, or at times even asking me about things they did for me in the past.

Dr Hou, as usual, was very personable, friendly, polite, and respectful. He explains things well and at a level that patients can understand. At least three or four times during the visit, Dr Hou asked if I had any questions or concerns. One thing that was very rewarding to me personally was that Dr Hou asked me about my mom who was also a patient of Dr Hou. My mom had recurrent bladder infections and due to a weakened immune system, she ended up with a mild infection turning into sepsis. She passed away after entering hospice care about a year and a half ago. When I explained that to Dr Hou, he had some great things to say about her, and I could easily tell that he was sincere in saying those things about her. Every visit to Dr Hou has been a positive experience. I've never felt rushed, I've always felt that he was actively listening, he focuses on me rather than on a computer screen, and he is very prudent about lab work, imaging, medications, and procedures.
