Emily A Bender, MD

Dr. Emily Bender, MD, is a dedicated family medicine physician with additional specialized training in obstetrics, offering comprehensive care to patients of all ages. She cares for patients of all ages, providing prenatal care, delivery and post-partum, well-child visits, annual physicals, sick visits, and chronic disease management. 

Having grown up in rural Alabama, Dr. Bender intimately understands the healthcare challenges rural communities face. Motivated by this awareness, she chose to join our community to address these gaps and provide essential medical services where they are most needed.

Dr. Bender earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. She completed her residency in family medicine in Fort Collins, Colorado, and pursued further training with a Maternal-Child Health fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Dr. Bender views patient care as a privilege, valuing the opportunity to deeply understand her patients' lives. She is particularly passionate about full-spectrum family medicine, which allows her to develop enduring relationships and provide personalized care tailored to each patient's unique needs and conditions.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Bender enjoys outdoor activities such as running, biking, and hiking. She’s looking forward to exploring everything that Mendocino County has to offer.
