Biografía
Dr. Bengs is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon practicing on the Central Coast. Known for combining advanced surgical expertise with a patient-centered approach, he delivers exceptional orthopedic care close to home.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bengs has held prominent leadership and academic roles, including Director of Special Surgery at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica and Associate Professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. His experience also includes serving as Quality Officer, Chief of the Joint Replacement Division, and Vice Chair of the UCLA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Bengs earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction, and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Harvard, where he was honored with the Marmour Award for resident excellence. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in joint replacement surgery at UCLA.
A published researcher and recognized leader in orthopedics, Dr. Bengs is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and currently serves as Vice Chief of Staff at Adventist Health Twin Cities.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bengs enjoys sailing and ranching with his wife.
