Ather Mehboob, M.D., specializes in medical oncology/hematology at the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center in downtown Bakersfield. Dr. Mehboob is passionate about caring for his patients and hopes to give them courage and support during their treatments.
Dr. Mehboob comes from a long line of doctors; his mother, and his two older sisters are all doctors. He chose to continue the tradition. Mehboob is excited to be back on the West Coast and in Bakersfield and closer to his family. Dr. Mehboob also enjoys picking up a camera and capturing amazing moments. He has even won some photography awards.

Dr. Mehboob was very attentive to me during my appointment. He listened to my concerns. We made a future plan that fit my needs and schedule. My only complaint is the wait time to get to my appointment. My appointment was scheduled at 9am. I waited In the waiting room for 20 minutes. Then I waited another 15 minutes in the patient room. I understand that it only takes one patient to completely offset the entire daily schedule. However, something needs to change regarding the scheduling so patients are arriving and departing in a timely manner.
