I really appreciate Dr. Wanchu. I lived in Arizona for a year and had a new doctor there. He did not have the interactions nor the concerns or interest in me like Dr. Wanchu had. I ended up moving back to Oregon and Dr. Wanchu was one of the deciding factors of moving back. The care I get from him is far above anything I had previously. I appreciate and admire Dr. Wanchu so much.

I wouldn't recommend coming to this establishment. The first time I saw a rheumatologist here they said there wasn't anything he saw that he would diagnose. Months later I found out it's because that doctor didn't see anyone with hyper mobility. And this second doctor understood that it was hyper mobility however medication seems to be the only care and wouldn't cover all of my problems. It feels like a bandage fix for the pain but nothing else without going to additional doctors. I'll be looking for another doctor who can provide care that is more then medication.

He did not seem to have time to or be interested in any questions or concerns I might have. When he took a history - off what seemed to be a list of yes / no questions on his computer if I answered it vaguely- because there's not always a clear yes or no answer- he would just forcefully ask the question again. He lacked any sign of empathy or interest in the specifics of my issues. To me it appeared he was either burnt out or getting to an age where he was having difficulty processing and reliant on checklists rather than processing answers to questions which should spur a good historian/ diagnostician to ask other questions. I have a recheck coming up with him so we'll see if he does better at the next appointment- maybe he was just having an off day. But at this point I have absolutely no confidence in his abilities or trust in him and will likely pursue a second opinion .
